NCAA Division I NIL is eligible in Kentucky

NCAA Division I NIL in Kentucky

Overview

NCAA Division I athletes may earn NIL compensation. The original interim policy (July 2021) has been supplemented by the House v. NCAA settlement (approved June 2025), which introduced direct school-to-athlete revenue sharing and established the College Sports Commission for oversight.

Effective: 2021-07-01

Key Restrictions

Must comply with state law where school is located; no pay-for-play; no recruiting inducements; deals >$600 must be reported via NIL Go (Deloitte-operated) within 5 business days. House v. NCAA settlement (effective July 1, 2025) allows schools to pay athletes directly up to $20.5M per school annually. College Sports Commission now handles NIL enforcement.
